Waters: “Sadly, despite the great promise of technology to transform how we teach and learn, students continue to do menial, repetitive work in new digital worksheets and in new digital environments.”
- Unfortunately, regardless of the transformational future of technology in education, students carry on doing the same, dull tasks in new online activities and new online programs.
- Although the hopeful future of technology in education systems, students, unfortunately, continually perform lowly, tedious assignments in new online systems and in new programmed atmospheres.
- Through the bright future of technology in education, students, sadly, continue to do mindless, dreary work in new automated programs and in new automated systems.
Haddawy: “Thus the translators, by adhering to such sources, deviate not only from the letter but also from the spirit of the original, particularly since the letter and the spirit are often inextricable.”
- Consequently, by sticking to such origins, interpreters steer away from both the message and the essence of the primary source, especially since the message and the essence are generally inseparable.
- So, because the supposed linguists cling to such sources, they diverge from the original note and from the soul of the message, mainly because the message itself and the soul of it are normally intertwined together.
- Because of their usage of such references, interpreters not only stray from the message, but also from the psyche of it, and the two are usually entangled with one another
I always found paraphrasing a bit of a tedious task, but this simple assignment made me realize how useful it really is. For both passages, the first time paraphrasing them was easy, but as soon as I ran out of my “go-to” synonyms, I was forced to dig deeper into the meaning of the sentence. I found that the more I put the sentences into my own words, while still sticking to the initial meaning and tone of the original, the more I was able to understand it. The more I paraphrased, the more I was able to play around with the structure of the sentence and still retain what it is trying to say. I found Haddawy slightly more difficult to paraphrase because I felt his tone to be angry and passionate at the same time. It is hard enough to put your anger into words on paper, but it is even harder for someone else to replicate that.
