While watching the movie, the first and only thing that stuck with me throughout the entirety of the movie was the value of freedom. When Ahmad and Abu are on the boat after escaping prison, Ahmad says he has always had everything but freedom, and Abu says he has always had nothing but freedom. This interaction stayed with me throughout the movie because you can see how that ideology shows through their actions throughout their movie.

This interaction also left me wondering why Ahmad wanted to stay for the princess and why Abu longed to travel the world. As Ahmad said earlier, he has never had freedom, and that would make you think that he would also want to travel the world. It made sense to me why Abu helps Ahmad, making a deal with him that if he helps him see her they will travel together, because Abu longs for friendship. Their actions and desires make me wonder what freedom means to them and how the definition of freedom varies from person to person. Another small interaction that struck me was the parallel between Ahmad and Abu. When Abu learns that Ahmad is King Ahmad, he tells him that he is his slave, even after just confessing to hating him. When Ahmad meets the princess for the first time, he introduces himself as her slave, paralleling the earlier interaction he had with Abu. It makes me question how easily freedom is given up and/or taken for granted, and the lengths people are willing to take to obtain it. Although a small snippet from the adventurous movie, I found the bit on freedom very interesting.
